New Delhi, Feb 19: In a strategy aimed at taking the National brand head-on in the Indian market, Carrier Aircon India is launching the Toshiba range of airconditioners. The Toshiba range will be priced 15-20 per cent higher than most of the other brands, Carrier's Managing Director Anil K Shrivastava told The Financial Express.
Mr Shrivastava said the Toshiba range will take on the National range of ACs in the Indian market, as there is a preference among upper-end customers to go in for Japanese brands. Carrier acquired 40 per cent in Toshiba Airconditioners last year. Carrier Aircon is launching seven new models of Toshiba window airconditioners, three models of inverter splits ACs and the state-of-the-art MM system heavy duty ACs ranging from 35 tonne to 300 tonne. The range of window airconditioners will be imported from Thailand and sold in the Indian market.
