Concio Tech to embark on $8m expansion plan

Mumbai: Concio Technologies, the 100% subsidiary of Concio Corporation, the IT consultancy based in Silicon Valley has allocated $8 million for its expansion plans for 2001.

Mr Achyut S Godbole, Managing Director said that the expansion plan includes infrastructure, acquiring hardware and software, satellite links, overseas offices and acquisitions.

Mr Godbole said that the budget for acquisitions would depend on the company size and its infrastructure. The type of companies they plan to acquire are those that would give Concio a customer base or domain knowledge in the financial, telecom and the healthcare sectors. They will also focus on CRM, the wireless domain or the Internet domain. The company has already set up a development center in Mumbai and the investment in this center is going to be around Rs 4 crore in the coming months.

They will be investing around $3 million in Pune in the existing as well as a planned facility. The rest would be allocated in setting up their overseas offices in Europe and Asia-Pacific. The company has a facility in Bangalore which may be developed after one year.

Mr Godbole said that the company has started the SEI CMM Level 4 movement and are looking for tie-ups with various product companies.

The focus of the company is on expanding their customer base and concentrating a substantial portion of their business in execution of projects as 30% of the revenues are derived from their fixed price projects. He added that they would break even in 6 months.
