Prudential-ICICI to offer scholarship scheme

Our Markets Bureau
Mumbai, Feb 18: Prudential-ICICI Asset Management Company (AMC) proposes to offer a scholarship scheme under its Prudential-ICICI Child Care Plan scheme, which it would be launching in the near future. The scholarships would be awarded commencing from the second year from the date of launch of Prudential-lCICI Child Care Plan. For the purpose of instituting a scholarship scheme, the AMC proposes to setup a corpus of Rs 5,00,000 from its resources.

From the second year of setting up of the Trust, it intends to contribute each year from its profits, about 0.10 per cent of aggregate net assets of the plan under the scheme. Under the scheme, the AMC proposes to provide financial assistance to the eligible students for expenses incurred by them/their parents/lawful guardian, on tuition fees, cost of books, cost of hostel fees, cost of travel abroad and other costs.

Initially, the plan would make available a scholarship of not over Rs 1,00,000 each. The trustees for the scholarship scheme would formulate a scheme after the launch of Prudential-lCICI Child Care Plan, to administer scholarships and settle matters relating thereto. The details of the scheme and the terms and conditions applicable thereto would be given to the applicants/unitholder in due course. The trustees of the AMC, in consultation with the trustees for the scholarship scheme, may impose additional conditions, as deemed necessary, in regard to the term of investment holding of the applicant in the Fund.
