Chandigarh : For the purpose of facilitating business operations and networking over the Internet coupled with an offline presence, Web Nation Online is introducing the concept of virtual offices. This package will be operational by the first week of March this year. "We are targeting small and medium business enterprises which do not have the required infrastructure due to financial constraints, to expand their businesses in the way which they would otherwise like to," said Mr Abhinesh Johal, Senior vice-president, Web Nation Online. The concept of virtual offices will allow such businesses to expand their operations by providing them with not only online presence but also the required offline set up in the form of brick and mortar offices across the world. The businesses that opt for this package will benefit by using the offline set up of Web Nation Online, which spreads across 28 cities within and outside the country. Outside India, it has offices in the USA, the UK, Canada, Iran, Thailand and Nepal, which can be used for every kind of offline help like promotional activities , marketing advice and strategies and establishing presence in these areas. Virtual office users can also avail of technical expertise, online promotion and building up tie-ups, said Mr Johal. "It is very important to supplement online presence with some sort of offline support, and that is precisely what we intend to provide.
Initially, we had planned to offer this package last year. But at that point of time we did not have the required foundation and tie-ups," Mr Johal said. The primary objective of virtual offices is to provide a platform from where the targeted audience can be reached out to in a convenient and organised manner. The concept has not been fully exploited becausedotcoms offering it generally do not have an established offline presence, he said. Indian companies abroad can also avail this service to enhance their offline presence in India and vice-versa. "These enterprises will benefit from our existing tie-ups. We have tie-ups with leading sites like razorfinish.com, the only reverse auction site for hotels; auctionindia.com, a site for industrial goods; airticketsindia.com, mapsofindia.com, to name a few. These sites are also making use of our offline presence to promote their business ," said Mr Johal. He said that they would be contacting ISP's in the USA, the UK and Canada for the purpose of promoting the concept of virtual offices.
