Mumbai : Citrix Software Limited is gunning for a 300-400 per cent increase in revenues and a target of 1,200 customers or more by the end of this year. The company also opening CALC (Citrix Authorized Learning Centers) in partnership with one of the leading training institutes shortly. These centers will train in the use of MetaFrame, a server computing model. These centres will be opened in Banglore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and New Delhi. Mr Alan Pettit, Vice President Citrix Pacific said "these centers will help train our channels and our end users as well. Training is an important component and once trained our channels will effectively be able to sell". He added that more centres will be added once the business grows. MetaFrame which is based on the server computing model provides any application over any device. These applications include ERP, productivity suites, Unix-based applications, NT and Java.
Citrix is currently talking to a couple of leading centres and once the centres have been decided on Citrix will have to meet with their certification requirements. The training institute will themselves have to go through training and testing before they are certified as CALC. Mr Pettit says "this way we can ensure that our channels will get the best training." The institute will derive revenues by charging for those sessions. The benefit for Citrix is that once their channels are trained their support cost is minimised and they have a trained customer base.
