Mumbai : Boston Education and Software Technologies Ltd has appointed Ernst and Young to help them identify a software company with a substantial overseas client base for acquisition. The budget for the acquisition is in the range of Rs 25-30 crore, according to Mr Dipankar Mukhopadhyay, managing director, Boston Education and Software Technologies Ltd. "The company could either be an overseas one or an Indian one, but what we are clearly looking for is a strong overseas client base in order to boost out marketing network", he adds.Boston Education and Software Technologies has outlined a three-pronged strategy to establish its presence in the software solutions space.To propel the business of on site consultancy, the company recently acquired Infinity, a US-based firm specialising in onsite consultancy.
E&Y to look for acquisitions for Boston Education "The idea is to get into onsite consultancy and then generate project work which can be completed off shore", explains Mr Mukhopadhyay. As part of its strategy to strengthen its marketing network and service more overseas clients, the company plans an acquisition for which it has employed the services of Ernst and Young.The third element of the strategy is to strengthen the software solutions business that the company is already into.
In terms of the requirements from the company that Boston is planning to acquire, Mr Mukhopadhyay said, "The company should have a strong marketing network and proven skills in emerging technologies".
