India seventh in AT Kearney's FDI confidence index
India has moved up to seventh position in AT Kearney's foreign direct investment (FDI) confidence index in the current year as against 11th position last year. The report launched in London places the US on top of the list, followed by China, Brazil, UK, Mexico, Germany and India. About 85 per cent of the CEOs of top 100 companies in the world also intend to direct three-fourths of their FDI commitments to developing economies like India, Brazil, China and Mexico, the report said.

RIL touches 52-week high on BSE
The Sensex shed its initial gain on the last day of settlement at the NSE. Profit-taking in most old economy stocks pushed the Sensex down by 43 points while NSE's S&P CNX Nifty alsoclosed with a minor loss of 11 points. The highlight for the day was the Reliance Group stocks. Reliance Industries was the star performer clocking a gain of 2.69 per cent to close at an all time high of Rs 411.80. The stock also attracted huge volumes on FII buying.

SBI announces top-level appointments
SBI on Tuesday announced top-level appointments at its corporate centre here. R Sundararaman, who was earlier managing director at SBI European Bank Plc, London, has been appointed as deputy MD and chief credit officer. Mr AK Batra, MD, State Bank of Patiala, takes over as deputy MD and corporate development officer. Mr AK Purwar replaces Mr Batra at State Bank of Patiala.

Tata AIG bags life insurance licence
Tata AIG Life Insurance Company Ltd has received its life insurance license from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Irda). Farrokh Kavarana has been named chairman of Tata AIG Life, while George Oommen will be managing director of the company.

MSEB to sign pact with DPC
Dabhol Power Company (DPC) will soon sign a pact with the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) for drawing power from the first block of 720 mw of the Dabhol phase-II during the ongoing test runs.
