Virtual who's who of Indians and India

Our eFE Bureau
Kolkata: Another new portal and another claim of being the "first" of its genre. This portal talks all about India and is called "whoswhoindian.com".

Whoswhoindian is "dedicated" to the Indian cause and is the first virtual encyclopaedia for Indians. The portal is making a bid to cover everything Indian under the sun - culture, religion, political parties, fine arts, judiciary, et al."We have ensured that you are not lost when browsing through our site.

Sixteen people are working overtime to keep the site updated on a daily basis," says Mr Pawan Lohia, marketing director of the portal. The portal has nine broad categories - consultants, individuals, institutions, manufacturing industry, organisations, professionals, service industry, students and trade. This is aimed at making searches simpler, Mr Lohia said.

One of the key features of the portal is a comprehensive social register that details religious festivals, their linkages with the communities and linguistic groups, how and when they are celebrated.
