Chandigarh: As part of its expansion plans, Eider e-commerce Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eider Infotech Ltd, plans to launch e-shopping malls in 12 cities across the country.The first of these will be operational within a fortnight in New Delhi. Subsequently, operations will be launched in Mumbai, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore, Vadodara, Jalandhar and Ludhiana. The company has already invested in commercial buildings, flats and other infrastructure in these cities.
The customers will be given e-commerce credit cards. These credit cards will entitle card holders to a credit limit which will largely depend on their economic status. The consolidated bills can be cleared after a period of every 45 days.
Eider Infotech Ltd is a major player in Web development solutions, telecom software, electronics and wireless and the IT sector.
``The company has invested over Rs 30 crore on equipment, software and stocking goods,'' said Mr RS Walia of Eider Infotech Ltd.In the first phase, household goods like groceries etc will be introduced. Within six months, white goods will also be made available over the Net.
At the moment, Eider e-commerce Ltd has three functioning portals: indiasales.net, a property shopping mall across 75 cities; dreamprince.com, a global participation site and verifycard.com, a business site.
