To begin with, the services will be available at Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad and will soon be extended to New Delhi and Chennai, a release from the hospital said. The facility was formally launched by Hyderabad police commissioner P Ramulu on the hospital premises.

The Apollo Group has entered into an understanding with aviation companies around the country to transport critically ill patients from any part of the country or even neighbouring countries to the nearest Apollo Hospital.

While aviation companies will provide the aircraft and take care of aviation logistics, Apollo will take care of the medical aspects like providing trained personnel, equipment and medical care during the flight, the release said.
