Nagpur, Feb 11: Indian Language Newspapers Association's (Ilna) suggestions regarding advertisements, have been incorporated in the new guidelines of the Directorate of Audio Visual Publicity (DAVP) of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) ministry, a senior association office bearer said on Saturday.Information and Broadcasting Minister Sushma Swaraj had agreed for releasing advertisements to newspapers fulfilling certain conditions, ILNA president Lalit Shrimal told reporters here on the eve of a one day regional convention being held at Amaravati.
The newspapers must produce certificate from chartered accountant's or ABC registration with RNI and balance sheet's etc, he said, adding, this will curb mushrooming of newspapers which were not honest in publication.
ILNA, which has 315 members, plans to have a full-fledged office in Delhi for the benefit of its members, he said adding the organisation in the recent past had expressed strong reservations to the price rise in the indigenous newsprint by the manufacturers.
A tripartite meeting invovling ILNA, manufacturers and DAVP was being considered by government, he added.
