Mumbai, Feb 11 : Candle-lit dinners, live music, pool-side dancing, bottles of wines - what more could one ask for on Valentine's Day - of course with your valentine in one of the exotic Taj resorts. But for those who have always taken a holiday alone or had to wait for family or friends to join them for a holiday, the Taj Group of hotels has come up with an innovative scheme to woo the singles with the "singles vacation". This is a common concept around the world but is being introduced in India for the first time. The first programme will be launched at the scenic location at the Taj Exotica, Goa. The hotel has planned several interesting activities exclusively for the singles. These include the yoga, meditation programmes, ice breaker activities, pool-side and beach side activities, cocktail making courses and dance classes. Later, this concept will be rolled out to other major leisure destinations.
But of course, the Taj group has not waived off the idea of something special for the Valentines - the day to share unbridled ecstasy of love, romance and passion.
To celebrate the occasion, India's premium chain of hotels has come up with special romantic packages at its Leisure Hotel properties at Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Agra and South India. Who would not be liking to celebrate the Valentines at the Fort Agauda Beach Resort, Goa or treat their loved one as a queen and give her an authentic royal experience at the palace hotels in Rajasthan, may it be Rambagh Palace or the Jai Mahal Palace.
To heighten the experience, there will be a special candle light dinner in the world renowned gardens of the palace, buggy ride and a bottle of sparkling wine. Even the romance can be heightened on the backdrop of backwaters of Kerala at the Taj Malabar or Taj Garden Retreats at Kumarkom, Thekkady or Varkala.
Over the last two years, the occupancies have increased by around 25 per cent and the Taj group expects profitability of the leisure business to rise by 35 per cent to 40 per cent during the next two years.
