Bajaj chalks out expansion plan

Chennai, Feb 2: Bajaj Auto has chalked out a major development programme in association with KHI to increase its production capacity to 70,000 bikes per month in the next fiscal as part of its plan to emerge as the leader in the fast growing motorcycle segment in the country, marketing and business development vice-president RL ravichandran announced on Friday. Following its introduction of the country's first chopper bike Kawasaki Bajaj Eliminator last month, Bajaj would introduce two new bikes-the Acer and the Pulsar in April this year, he disclosed.

Bajaj Auto had also started a joint development programme with Kawasaki for a new series of larger four-stroke bikes with global appeal. The target overseas markets for this product have been identified.
