Mumbai : Mumbai-based Microworld Software Service Pvt Ltd, a packaged software development company, has signed an MoU with Malaysian Metronics Corporation Sdn.BHD to form a new company `Thiscom' in Malaysia.Thiscom will be located at Malaysia's MSC (Multimedia Super Corridor) and will look after the marketing, technology distribution and localisation of Microworld's products eScan and MailScan which are content security products. An amount of Rs 2.5 crore has been invested in the development of the product of which the company will be investing $.5 million for setting up the company.The investment is being made by the Metronics group and Microworld will provide the technology and development backing for the product. eScan and Mail Scan have been developed using a new technology from Microworld `Microworld Winsock Layer' (MWL). This technology captures all the data flowing between the computer and the Internet on a real time basis.
Metronics Corporation is developing the Malaysian market for these products. "Our goal is to consolidate our position as one of the security leaders in the international markets. This endeavour is Microworld's first entry into the South East Asian markets ", says Mr Govind Rammurthy, MD & CEO, Microworld Software.
