New York : Two leading Indian American Information Technology firms have come together in an attempt to simplify e-business applications and solutions. The alliance between Netfish Technologies, Inc, a provider of business-to-business (B2B) process collaboration solutions, and Selectica, Inc, an Internet selling system (ISS), both founded by Indian Americans, is expected to enable e-business to seamlessly extend core Internet selling applications to resellers, partners and customers, the two firms said in a joint statement."With today's current technologies, companies are moving faster than ever before, requiring an integration solution that will allow all aspects of the supply chain to efficiently work together," said Netfish CEO Mr Ravi Iyer."With the combination of Selectica's buy-side focus and Netfish's process collaboration specialty, this agreement opens the door to a complete integration solution for customers," said Mr Iyer who founded Netfish in 1997. Mr Raj Jaswa, president and CEO of Selectica, said: "Our customers have moved beyond catalogue driven e-commerce initiatives and are becoming part of the next generation selling systems. Partnering with Netfish allows Selectica to accelerate the process and reach out to various participants within our value-added selling chain."
Selectica's ISS allows e-business to simplify and accelerate the process of selecting, configuring and pricing purchase complex products and services across all sales channels. It thus enables companies to cater to multiple partners, resellers and new and existing customers with a single application.Netfish's XDI server allows e-businesses to exchange business documents between different organisations, through applications regardless of data format or XML protocols, company officials said.
Under the agreement, solutions of Netfish and Selectica will address the needs of enterprise customers, Net markets and B2B exchanges. In the enterprise domain, Selectica will install its software at the customer's site. Netfish's integration platform will then be used to receive service updates from partner companies with disparate systems and to update the latest configurations.
