Mumbai, Jan 28 : PNB Debt Fund could be termed as a star performer in debt funds-medium term (diversified debt funds with a maturity profile of more than one year). According to a Value Research mutual performance report on December 2000, the debt fund figures in all its lists of top five performers during the year.The debt fund figures in top five funds for a period of one month ending December 31, 2000 with percentage change in NAV of 0.5, it figures in top five funds for a period of three months with a percentage change in NAV of 2.01. The fund has also been ranked in the top five bracket for the six month and one year period ending December 31, 2000 with percentage change in NAV of 3.01 and 7.64.
The debt fund, which was launched during June 1999, has given a return of 14.51 during the year ending December 31, 2000, a return of 5.57 for the three month period ending December 31, 2000 and a return of 2.58 for the one month period ending December 31, 2000. The returns of the fund since inception is 14.59.
The other performer is JM Liquid Fund-G. The debt fund figures in the the Value Research's top five ranking for a period of one month, three month, six month and three years consistently. The debt fund has given a return of 1.81 in a period of one month ending December 31, 2000, a return of 3.99 for a period of three months ending December 31, 2000 and a return of 11.42 for the one year ending December 31, 2000.
The other debt fund-medium term to figure in the top five bracket for the year ending December 31, 2000 are Dundee Bond PSU, LIC Bond, Tata Income-DH and JM Liquid-D. The percentage change in NAV of Dundee Bond PSU was 8.76, percentage change in NAV of LIC Bond was 9.02, percentage change in Tata Income-DH was 9.61 and percentage change in JM Liquid-D was 9.72.
