Turbograd rechristened Mentorix

Mumbai : Us-based Turbograd, an e-ventures investee company, has renamed itself as Mentorix. It recently received funding from Aptech. Mentorix, an e-learning solutions company, which had earlier received investment to the tune of $5 million from eVentures has now received funds to the totalling $3.4 million from Aptech for a 37.5 per cent stake in the company. Aptech will also establish a state-of-the-art 15,000 sq feet offshore development centre with 200 seats to focus entirely on developing e-learning courseware and software applications. eVentures holds a "significant minority stake" in the company, according to Mr Neeraj Bharagava, CEO, eVentures India.

Mentorix Technologies had been established as Turbograd Inc in the US last year by entrepreneurs Maurice Haeems and Jay Sitaram, both graduates of VJTI, Mumbai and MBAs from the Wharton School of Business. The company has since, built a client list which includes Fortune 500 companies like Citibank and New Economy companies like eGain Communications.One of Mentorix' angel investors is Gunjan Sinha, president of eGain Communications. Mentorix will provide customised end-to-end e-learning solutions to the corporate sector, training companies, schools and higher educational institutions. The company's services will include development, hosting and maintenance of e-learning courseware and software applications. The company has been targeting the US market and will continue to do so according to Mr Haeems, who says that the cost of these services ranges from $0.5 million to $1 million per project.
