Adani Group to set up Rs 60-cr call centre

New Delhi : The burgeoning call centre business is beckoning one and all. After the IT czars, it's the Ahmedabad-based Rs 3,500 crore Adani Group, a leading global trading and private infrastructure giant which is getting enticed by the new business. The Group plans to launch a 400-seat call centre in Ahmedabad, next month, with an investment of Rs 60 crore, Mr Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group told The Financial Express at the launch of their range of refined edible oils under the brandname Fortune in the capital. According to Mr Adani, the call centre is being opened in a strategic alliance with a foreign partner. He, however, refused too divulge the name of the foreign company. ``It's a little premature to talk about it,'' he said. Among the Adani Group's future plans include developing an industrial park, setting up a power project and a transit chemical storage terminal as well as foraying into gas distribution, industrial salt manufacturing and e-tailing.The Group also has a 50-50 joint venture with Wilmar Holding Pte Ltd of Singapore-Adani Wilmar Ltd. The company has recently commissioned a edible oil refinery at Mundra in Gujarat with a capacity of 600 million tonnes. The company plans to double the capacity in the next one year.
