Thiruvananthapuram: Rajeev Vasudevan, was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Technopark by the State Cabinet here on Wednesday. He was formerly head of systems integration operations (India and SAARC region) for Motorola Inc. He was associated with Motorala from 1994. He recently quit the company for better career prospects. The decision regarding the appointment of Mr Vasudevan was made by Kerala Chief Minister EK Nayanar soon after the cabinet meeting here. Another IT professional Hari Narayanan was also short-listed by the selection panel, but finally Mr Vasudevan was selected, he added. The Technopark had been headless for over four months ever since KG Sateesh Kumar quit as CEO to join a start-up firm attached to Technopark.
The Technopark society had invited applications from all over the country for the top post and finally Rajeev Vasudevan and Hari Narayanan were short listed. The delay in the appointment of CEO had put the private units within Technopark into difficulties owing to delay in taking many administrative decisions. Vasudevan is currently based in Bangalore. The efe was the first to inform the news about his appointment over phone from Thiruvananthapuram.
A delighted Mr Vasudevan said that he was looking forward to the new assignment and expected it to be challenging as well as different from his earlier assignments.
