European Directorate gives CoS to Medicorp

Our Corporate Bureau
Chennai, Jan 14 : Leading bulk drug manufacturer and exporter in the country, Medicorp Technologies India Ltd (MTIL) has got the Certificate of Suitability (CoS) for the drug, Cetrizine Di Hydrochloride. The CoS was awarded to the Hyderabad-based company by the European Directorate for the quality of medicines.

Medicorp is the first Indian drug manufacturer to get the CoS certification from the European Directorate. CoS certification from the Directorate is a must for drug companies to export products to the European markets, a company statement said on Friday. The certification is expected to boost the company's growth by opening up the European market and spurring the export of Cetrizine Di Hydrocarbonide to that market, the statement said.

Currently, Medicorp is one of the few pharma companies in India that produce this drug. The global market for Cetrizine Di Hydrochloride is estimated to be over $1 billion.
