Radix Infotech offers `Finpak' free accounting software

New Delhi : Software products company Radix Infotech on Thursday launched a Web-distributed accounting and inventory software "Finpak" with free downloads facility. "Finpak is a real-time, online, multi-user accounting and inventory software focussing on four modules - finance, sales, purchase and stores - which can be customised for small to medium enterprises," managing director of Radix Infotech Ajit Sirohi told reporters. Finpak, which has been developed in-house by the company's research and development division at a cost of Rs four crore, has a cash guarantee provision for the users in case of any detectable flaws. "Since the product is freely downloadable, users will only pay for the services," Mr Sirohi said adding that business partners would be appointed by the company, who would answer the queries on the accounting software on a payment basis. He said Finpak could also be upgraded to Radix micro enterprise resource planning (ERP products without any loss of data.

Radix Infotech which has been venture - financed by IFCI venture capital fund and Canbank venture capital fund will divest part of its equity to them in June, 2001, when the convertible debentures held by these VCs are converted into equity, he said. The company will roll out its application service provider (ASP) version of the software soon, besides offering a multi-lingual version of Finpak, he added.
