Our eFE Bureau
New Delhi : IEC Software Ltd (IEC) has won a contract worth Rs 30 crore to impart computer education in 75 colleges in Uttar Pradesh on a turn-key basis.

IEC will provide total infrastucture facilities including software and hardware solutions, course materials, content development, faculty and hardware maintenance in all the colleges under this programme.

According to a press statement, the contract has grown out of similar programmes conducted by IEC at the Agra and Kumaon Universities in the State. Mr SL Gupta, Chairman, IEC Software Limited said, "IEC is delighted with the opportunity to further the vision spelt out by the National IT Task Force formed by the Government of India. The UP government contract represents a major milestone in the growth path of the organisation and, as large as it is, this is only the first stage of a programme that will eventually cover some 650 colleges in UP in the next 1-2 years".

IEC will set up facilities and impart IT education in 75 colleges located in various parts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Aligarh, Mathuyra, Dehradun, Firozabad, hathras, Etah, Jalaon, Lalitpur, Banda, Hamirpur, Hardoi and so on. According to Mr Gupta, the course content developed by IEC and to be offered under our programme is equivalent of an "O" level course in IT education offered by DOEACC.
