Pune : KPIT Systems Limited has signed an MoU with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) for getting into bio-informatics. KPIT will be able to access the hardware and software resources of C-DAC, which has a centre of excellence in bio-informatics.Mr S B Pandit, chairman of KPIT, said DNA sequencing calls for substantial hardware requirements which is available at C-DAC and we can use our datamining experience and explore growth prospects in bio-informatics.
KPIT has also signed an MoU with an Israeli company, BIS, for accessing the technology in legacy to browser conversion. "Most the the companies still use mainframe and they do not want to change the proven sturdy system but at the same time they want to get Web-enabled. We will be providing them software for the legacy to Web conversion," Mr Pandit said.
Meanwhile, KPIT Systems Limited is re-christening itself and will be known as KPIT Infosystems to highlight the company's core activity and give the company a proper identity as a software company in the infotech industry. Also globally the company is known as KPIT Infosystems.
