Mumbai : A PJ or a poor joke is something all of us have cracked at some point or the other. To, MTV India, the concept of a PJ has formed the basis for its recently launched television show "Fully Faltoo Joke Contest." The show covers issues of current interest and relevance with a difference-there is the humour element to it. At MTV, the youth serve as the perfect audience for humour of this kind. How else could one for instance guess how many hair follicles the smuggler Veerappan have on his upper lip? The choices offered vary from what can be counted to what cannot.According to Vikram Raizada, Marketing Director, MTV India, the show is meant to connect with the youth by speaking in their lingo. "Our entire focus for the show has been PJ oriented" he says. "Fully Faltoo Joke Contest" went on air on November 30 this year and will have a question each month. The prize to the question is meant to be relevant - for the question on Veerappan, the winner gets an all expenses paid trip to the Bandipur Wildlife Sanctuary. There is also a Fake Bushy Moustache which is given away. "The connection with the viewers can happen only through interactivity and providing the Indian element" explains Mr Raizada. In that context, he says, the PJ route seems the best option. The contest changes each month for which announcements are made on MTV.
The show is being sponsored by Lay's and show details from January will also be carried in Lay's bags. To make the show more interesting, MTV has included spoof songs, movie scenes and also invents useless gadgets. The show is aired everyday and MTV says this is a perfect platform for unlimited fun.
