JobStreet.com to expand operations in Asia Pacific

Bangalore : The online recruitment solutions provider JobStreet.com on Monday announced its plans to expand operations in the Asia-Pacific region. The company is looking at opportunities in Taiwan, China, Japan and Korea, where it could open offices next year. Explaining the company's focus on the region, Mark Chang, CEO (worldwide), JobStreet.com said, "Around 60 per cent of the brain power that we deal in is located in the triangle formed by Jakarta, Delhi and Tokyo." The company is also planning to open more offices in India in cities including Chennai (by January 2001), Hyderabad, Pune and Chandigarh. Further, the company hopes to break-even next year, though it did not reveal any figures. N Muralidharan, managing director and vice-president JobStreet.com India said, "In India we would turn positive by December 2001 and overall by June 2001." The company began operations in the country in March 2000, while it was formed in 1995.Meanwhile, the online recruitment solutions provider announced the availability of SiVA ver 4.5 that aims to tackle the time required for tracking resumes, processing them, replying to both selected and non-selected candidates scheduling interviews and completing the entire e-recruitment selection process.
