Mumbai, Dec 17: The foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers during the week ended December 14, 2000 with net investments of Rs 150.2 crore against Rs 42 crore during the previous week.They were net buyers in equity with investments of Rs 232.1 crore, but were net sellers in debt with sales of Rs 81.9 crore.
The grand total of all investments (equity and debt) for the fortnight ended December 14, 2000 was Rs 192.1 crore with investments of Rs 254 crore in equities and sales of Rs 61.9 crore in debt.
For the year as on December 14, 2000, the grand total of all investments stood at Rs 7,338 crore and the grand total till date, since 1993 when they were first allowed to invest in Indian capital markets, was Rs 42,806.1 crore.
Mutual funds (MF) were net buyers for the week ended December 14, 2000 with a total investments of Rs 160.58 crore, lower than Rs 304 crore during the previous week.
The investments in equities was Rs 135.51 crores and in debt was Rs 25.08 crore.
The total investment for the fortnight ended December 14 was Rs 464.14 crore with investments in equities at Rs 353.33 crore and investments in debt at Rs 110.81 crore.
For the year as on December 14, 2000, the grand total of all investments was Rs 3331.86 crore. The MFs were net buyers in debt at Rs 3,761.98 crore and net sellers in equities at Rs 430.12 crores.
