Chambal Fertilisers unveils Website for farmers

Jaipur : The K K Birla group's Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd has launched a Website "uttamkrishi.com" dedicated to the farmers. The Website will facilitate the farmers with effective and balanced inputs to improve their farming practices.

The Rs 2500-crore Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd has its works located near Kotah in Rajasthan. Its installed capacity is to produce 2.5 million tonnes of urea per annum.

The Website has an agriculture information system that covers the crop information like different high yielding varieties, methods of land preparation, seed rate, irrigation management, fertiliser management, pest and crop protection, scientific agronomic practices, harvest technology and post harvest operations.

It also includes the latest information on weather, market rates of different farm products, soil-testing procedures, animal husbandry etc.The Website also provides information on the profile of a region/district such as total area, land utilisation pattern, demography, area under irrigation, fertiliser usage, crop acreage, soil fertility status, cooperative structure, rural banks etc.

Loaded with audio-visual effects it covers all the information that a farmer needs in a language that he is familiar with. It also gives details about prices of different commodities traded in different markets of Rajasthan.
