Bangalore, Dec 13: Nordberg, a global player in rock and mineral processing, on Wednesday launched the NW (Nordwheeler) series crushing plants that can be adapted for all mobile crushing applications at the ongoing EXCON 2000 (conference on financing construction equipment) in Bangalore on Wednesday. Nordberg further announced plans to set up a warehouse in Bangalore for its spare parts. Currently, it imports most of the equipment from the US and Europe, where it has set up manufacturing facilities. It has 13 factories worldwide.
The company's vice-president (Asia-Pacific) Mahmood Hussien told mediapersons in Bangalore, "We aim to increase our revenues from India from the current $ 15 million to $40 million in two years." Nordberg is part of Finland's Metso Corporation and a leading supplier of crushing equipment.
Hussien said, "In the medium term, we may put up a manufacturing base in India, after seeing how the market here develops."
Nordberg plans to invest Rs 5-8 crore over the next 5 years in India. It formed the wholly-owned Indian subsidiary in October.
The company claims the new products are also adaptable for recycle crushing applications. They can be easily transported from one crushing site to another and moved to locations that are difficult to access, it said.
