Bangalore : LG Soft India has announced the launch of LG Electronics India Software Lab (LGE-ISL). This dedicated software lab (initially a team of 40 people) will focus on developing solutions in the domains of digital television, mobile telephony, network protocols, home networking, multi-media and other convergence technologies.Close to $1 million will be invested towards this dedicated facility. Briefing the media, LGSI president Anilesh Seth said the facility would enable the company's R&D efforts to work on full product development to cater to the new `digital' image of LG products.
The company was looking at strategic partnerships for the lab and initially the focus would be on building alliances with premier technical institutes, Mr Seth said.
Talks are currently on with the Indian Institute of Science and alliances with the IITs is also being planned out.
