HP unveils digital sender solution

Mumbai : Hewlett-packard India on Wednesday introduced the hp1900C Digital Sender, a communications solution for large and medium-sized enterprises.The hp9100c digital sender is a communications device that connects directly to the network, converts colour and black and white documents into small electronic file (PDF, TIF and PCL) and sends them electronically over the network (LAN,WAN). The user decides how the hard copy documents will be delivered, via e-mail, as a fax, on a LAN printer, directly to a PC, to a Website, to a knowledge management system or archive by selecting the required mode.This communications device provides companies a solution to handle paper intelligently and integrate paper-based documents into their digital communications system at the touch of a button. It also offers companies the advantage of a single device for all paper communications. The hp9100c digital sender uses the company's existing LAN and WAN for free internal communication lending to communication costs savings by up to 70 per cent by decreasing long distance fax costs and overnight mail costs. Commenting on the marketing strategy, Mr Nitin Hiranandani, country sales manager, imaging and printing systems, BCSO, said, "There are two key strategies - one for the channels and the other for the end user. In the end-user segment, we are targeting the financial and insurance segment and the second one is the networking and telecom industries.
