Calcutta : FAG Bearings India Ltd will be launching a rupee-based Web portal to handle sales and logistics in the south-east Asian region. The company, which aims to become the number one manufacturer of bearings in India by 2002, is looking at the Internet for boosting sales.According to Mr John Varghese, Fag's deputy general manager for marketing, his team is working towards making FAG bearings the first choice for consumers. He was here to attend a two-day workshop.
"There has been a 25 per cent growth in imported bearings in the current year and a major jump is planned for the coming year," he said. FAG's earnings from domestic sales has reached around Rs 200 crore in the present year.
