New Delhi, Nov 19: Nahar group's Oswal Cotton Mills, owner of popular winter wear brands such as MonteCarlo and Canterbury, is venturing into the ready to wear segment for men by the end next month. The move is a part of the group's strategy to increase its product range beyond winter wear.
The ready to wear men's range will be launched under brand name Cotton County - a semi-formal range of clothes for men.
It will be positioned in the premium segment against brands such as ColorPlus. While the trousers would be priced between Rs 900 to Rs 1,500, the shirts and T-shirts will be in the range of Rs 700 to Rs 1,200.
The company has already signed up HTA as its advertising agency for launching a campaign for this new product range. It plans to kick off a massive promotional campaign before the product hits the market.
A senior official of the company told The Financial Express: "We decided that we would no longer be known as a winter wear company. There are many segments which look very promising and ready to wear segment for men is one of them."
He said "our company has two popular winter wear brands - MonteCarlo and Canterbury. Our competitors in the winter wear segment have already forayed into summer clothes. We feel now it is time to foray into new segments and add new brands to our portfolio.
The company is planning to initially start with a semi-formal range of trousers, shirts and T-shirts. This will be followed by a leisure range and a formal range of clothes after few months.
