Babloo's not kidding! Tiny tots get their own portal

Our Economic Bureau
A Novel educational portal for kids, conceptualised by leading software consultant firm Magna Infotech, will be launched here on Tuesday with an aim to enhance the understanding, grasping and retaining levels of children.

Christened `Babloo', the multi-lingual and audio integrated content, is being presented by Magna, an associate of business conglomerate Nagarjuna Fertilisers and chemicals Group, in a special form for children between three and 12 years of age.

``Babloo comes as a breath of fresh air into their little world in such a way that a three-year-old can easily explore its wonders without parental assistance," the managing director of Magna Infotech, Mr Pradeep K Mittal, said at a press conference here.

He said the the main goal of Babloo, to be formally launched by human resource development minister Murli Manohar Joshi, is to "catch children young and groom them into intellectual and responsible citizens of India''.

Presenting an integrated, interactive and holistic learning environment focusing on the intellectual, social and spiritual development of children, Babloo categorises children into three groups -- toddler, prankster and youngster, Mr Mittal said.

The concept comprises learning steps in numbers, alphabet, and words in different Indian languages, rhymes, stories, jokes, games, a concise view of India and its states, school subjects and quiz in general knowledge, history, English, geography, mathematics and a wide spectrum of areas, he said.
