Zee's gameshow slips as KBC gains in week two
Sibabrata Das
Mumbai : ZEE TV's game show Sawal Dus Crore Ka (SDCK) continues to put up a dismal performance against Star Plus' Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) in the second week. SDCK slid from a television ratings point (TRP) of 5.8 on Monday (October 30) to 3.7 on Thursday (November 11) while KBC moved up from 9.3 to 10.5 during the same period in 4 plus cable and satellite homes, according to INTAM data. On Tuesday, Zee's show earned a TRP of 3.3, compared to Star Plus' 11.2. Media analysts said the poor quality of the show is not drawing viewers in."Zee did relatively well at the start of the week as viewers may have wanted to taste the programme. But the subsequent ratings prove that they were disappointed with the show," an analyst in a leading media buying agency said. SDCK, in fact, never reached the inaugural show's ratings of 7.9 last week (October 23). Though Zee TV spokesperson had explained the low ratings in the first week of launch due to cricket on Sony Entertainment Television's SetMax, Diwali festival and use of celebrity by Star Plus on that day, the second week's performance do not support that verdict.
