Thai stock market rises2.4 pc in heavy trade

Bangkok: Thai shares rose 2.4 per cent Wednesday in heavy trade on continued buying by both foreign and local investors due to positive sentiment in advance of third-quarter electronics sector data, dealers said. Phillip (Thailand) Securities analyst Adisak Kammool said investors bought in non-banks, especially electronics, ahead of third quarter results next week.The expected dissolution of parliament Thursday also helped support the index, as some investors believe the market will rise significantly after a new Assembly is elected, dealers said.
