Standard input-output norms for new export items chalked out

New Delhi, Nov 8: The director-general of foreign trade (DGFT) has notified standard input-output norms for 38 new export items and has also amended existing norms for 34 such items, under the current Exim policy (1997-2002).

Of the 38 norms, seven norms are for chemicals and allied products, 26 for engineering products, two each for plastic and textile products, and one for food products, accoring to a public notice issued by the director-general.

Among the new chemical and allied products are betamethazone valerate, DL-naproxen, rubber backed/embedded coir mat, matting/rugs/carpets, toluene isocyanate (DI), meta nitro benzoyl chloride, para nitro benzoyl chloride, and zinc dust.

In the engineering sector, additional products include pressure cookers made of aluminium body and stainless steel (AISI 304 grade) lid, carbon steel (MS) fabricated tower packings, floppy diskettes loaded with software (including information/data), battery type NSCP B 25150 (nickel cadmium batteries) 24 volts 25AH, shock absorbers for two wheelers/three wheelers.

In this respect, imports of components shall be permitted on a net-to-net basis, without any wastage. The two new plastic products are nylon-6 dipped tyre cord fabric and PVDC coated PVC film (containing 0.900 kg PVC film and 0.100 kg PVDC coating). Similarly, the two new textile products are wraparound skirts and chemises.

Among the amendments made, the items allowed for import against benzyl cynades will now include benzyl chloride or toluene, sodium cyanide, soda ash and tridethyl amine.

Similarly, the import items against export of sterile ceftriaxone sodium will consist of born trifluride gas, trethyl amine acetonitrile/dimethyl acetamide, tetrhydro furan, acetone, methylene chloride, sodium hexanoate, and activated carbon.
