Bangalore, Nov 8: ITC Ltd, which entered the greeting cards business last month, has projected an annual sales of Rs 100 crore in three years from the new initiative, a top official of the company said on Wednesday.Chief executive of greeting cards business of ITC Ltd's packaging and printing division, Mr Chand Das, told reporters ITC would be a major player in this business in a `couple of years.'
The company launched its greeting cards - with brand name `Expressions' - in Chennai last month and in Bangalore on Wednesday. ``We will be in all metros in two weeks, and in 50 towns in the country over the next three months,'' he said. The company, Das said, had drafted a ``whole team of designers in India and abroad,'' and was presently focussing on designing, distribution and brand building.
According to him, the present market size of greeting cards in India is about Rs 300 crore, including 40 per cent in the unorganised sector. ``We hope to expand the market.'' The company is outsourcing its printing and paper requirements.
