New Delhi : Zenith Computers Limited has announced the launch of its new high end game ready PC, Zenith Xtreme. Zenith has tied up with Creative Technology Limited of Singapore for the supply of multimedia components.The new computer, targeted to the premium home PC user segment, will consist of Pentium III 800 MHz on Intel 815 chipset with 64/128 MB RAM and 20 GB hard disk drive. It will also offer 3D graphics engine with graphic processing unit, multi-channel 3D audio engine and 3D surround sound speakers.The PC would be available in two versions. The basic model called Xtreme Standard is priced at Rs 75,000. The Standard PC will have P-III 800, 64 MB RAM, Creative 3D blaster with NVIDA GeForce2 MX graphic processing unit and 32 MB DDR memory, 52x CDROM, Logitech Wingman joystick and an internal modem apart from other standard components.
The other model called Xtreme Premium has been priced at Rs 1,15,000. The PC will come with an advance NVIDA graphic processor unit, a 12x DVD ROM, 32 bit four channel audio card, a set of five speakers having 500 watts output, Logitech Wingman wheel and Pedal with other standard components. The machine will also be equipped with the TV unit along with full function remote control.
Zenith will also offer multimedia add-ons and game accessories like joystics, game pad, gaming mouse, video blaster camera etc. Creative will supply sound blaster, 3D blaster, CD-ROM, DVD ROM and Video digital camera to be fitted in the machine. Logitech, the leading mouse manufacturer, will provide the joystics, wheel and pedal, Gamepad etc.
Announcing the launch on Wednesday in Delhi, chairman and managing director of Zenith Computers Limited Raj Saraf said, "Besides PC games, the new products will also be ideally suited for 2D and 3D graphics applications. Zenith will provide the complete box which will save the users from component integration, collection of accessories and uncertainties of the grey market."
Mr Saraf said that the company would target the upper middle class homes besides media and advertising companies. Zenith is also exploring the cyber cafe market where such PC can be put to play games besides Internet surfing, he added.
