California Software unveils e-biz market server

Chennai : The Chennai-based California Software Company Ltd has launched `e-biz market server', a product which helps in building e-marketplaces. "The solutions consists of a customisable and scalable software platform called e-biz market base and one or more e-biz transaction engines such as auction exchange, aggregation and request for quatation. It comes along with the prototyping and visualisation tool called the RapidDesigner", said Mr S Santhosh, managing director of the company.

The company plans to target large companies with good plans for the Internet and dotcoms which are well funded in the Asian region.

It plans to have about 20 clients for this product by the end of this fiscal.In terms of revenues, it expects the e-biz market server to add about Rs 2 crore to the topline.

The Chennai-based software outfit currently employs 300 people with about 180 professionals in India and 110 professionals out of the US and rest in UK. "The company works on cutting edge technologies and so there has to be a large on-site presence. This does put pressure on the margins" says Mr Santosh. The company targets a topline of Rs 40 crore this fiscal as against Rs 14.4 crore last financial year.
