Mehta & Co forms joint venture co with Max Page 

 
Krishna Gopalan : MumbaiMehta & Company, A VENTURE CAPITAL FIRM BASED IN THE us, HAS ANNOUNCED A joint venture with Max Page. The new company named Max MindCrossing will be an e-commerce company specialising in knowledge management. "We have appointed Mr Raj Patil as CEO of the new venture" said Mr Nitin T Mehta, CEO, Mehta & Company Inc. Mr Patil, who is one of the founders of the company, will be based in New Delhi.

Mr Mehta, a member of the TiE board, said that he is bullish on spaces like e-health, e-learning, Internet infrastructure and multimedia which are the areas of focus for the JV with Max Page. "We believe there is a huge market for education and we want to be a part of this", said Mr Mehta.

Unwilling to disclose the details of the venture, Mr Mehta indicated that these were the broad areas under consideration.Currently, Mr Mehta's interests are spread over 30 companies which comprise technology and non-technology ventures. "I am hopeful of greater Government involvement in new projects" emphasised Mr Mehta. He also expressed a need for better infrastructure and the removal of hurdles at the implementation stage. The hurdles are largely in the legal and licensing processes, according to Mr Mehta. Mr Mehta is a merchant banker by profession and has promoted Mehta & Company, Inc.
