Mumbai, Oct 19: Hughes Software Systems has reported a post-tax profit of Rs 13.14 crore and a total income of Rs 47.65 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2000. The company's profit before tax has gone up by 96% from Rs 7.33 crore from the corresponding period in the previous year to Rs 14.38 crore for the quarter ended September 30.Total income of the company is up from Rs 24.83 crore in the corresponding period last year to Rs 47.65 crore this quarter representing a rise of 92 per cent. During the quarter, the paid up equity capital of the company has risen from Rs 1,668 lakh to Rs 1,671 lakh as a result of allotment of 32,000 equity shares to eligible employees.
Thirty-seven per cent of the company's sales for the quarter came from services for Hughes Network Systems while 34 per cent came from professional services rendered and 29 per cent from the sale of products. During the quarter the company added 15 customers. Product sales have shown a growth of 40 per cent over the previous quarter and VOIP dominated the product sales with a 54 per cent share for the quarter. Rightserve, the company's ASP business added 8 new accounts during the quarter.
