BPCL workers go on one-day strike ABOUT 3,500 workers, mostly belonging to marketing division of the state-owned Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) went on one-day strike on Thursday, affecting the normal works in offices and establishments at Mumbai, Kandla, Solapur, Jalgaon, Jabalpur and Manmad. According to union sources, the strike was a spontaneous reaction of the workers against the delay tactics of the management in holding the two-year long pending wage negotiations with the recognised workers union.Aruna Sugars changes name Aruna Sugars & Enterprises Ltd has decided to change its name as Aruna Sunrise Hotels Limited. This has been approved by the shareholders at the annual general meeting of the company held recently. Recognising the importance of travel and tourism the company is refurbishing its hotel and is also planning to set up a health club and a business centre with a speciality restaurant.
