Mumbai: Ramrampavna.com, a portal for Maharashtrians across the globe, will be launched on the 20th of this month. The portal will have streaming audio and video streaming and will showcase dramas, cultural programmes and travelogues to name a few. Mr Sanjay Shringarpure, director said, "the standard for any streaming audio and video is an eight minute format. What we plan on doing is showcasing full length dramas. The length of the program is not a constraint as far as we are concerned. It could go on for 90 minutes and more."As of now the site has 31 dramas and Mr Shringarpure states the content will not be repeated. The site also plans to introduce video-conferencing and VOIP, once the government of India permits VOIP. The business model of the site is `pay-per-view'. The text is free of cost, but the viewers will be charged for the full length dramas. Mr Sanjay said that the Brihan Maharastra Mandal, an organisation formed by groups of Maharastrians, in various cities, had also been contacted. Ramrampavna.com will be advertising in their newsletter. To promote the site, there will also be some e-promos as well as banner exchange and link exchange with portals such as rediff, 123India.com, India Abroad, along with advertisements in print. The total project cost has been 40 crore and the site expects to break even in the next one year. Mr Girish Balekundri, managing director said, "we are also tying up with the hospitals in different districts. As of now we have tied up with the Hinduja hospital."
