Bazee.com enters into a slew of tie-ups with dotcoms

Kavita Nair
Mumbai: Baazee.com has entered into an alliance with a number of dotcoms to provide the Indian user a "wholesome experience on the Internet", according to Mr Gautam Thakar, chief marketing officer Baazee.com. Mr Thakar adds, "the alliances will not only provide a better experience to the customers, but will also reach this out to many more customers."

The alliances are divided into three broad categories, namely: content building, traffic building, and co-marketing. For content building bazee.com has tied up with automartindia.com and traveljini.com, which will enhance the quality of customer experience by providing the best products to bid on in specific categories, according to Mr Thakar. Automartindia.com will provide the cars and bikes for auctions, both new and used. The category of used cars and bikes will include both Indian and foreign cars, while the new cars sold will be Indian.

The deal also includes auctioning of accessories, converted vehicles and collectors' vehicles. Traveljini.com specializes in sourcing holiday packages and other travel related products. Traveljini will become baazee.com's partner for providing these. To reach out to a wider customer base, they have entered into an alliance with several horizontal portals.

The chief among these are; go4i.com, indiainfo.com, hungama.com and netcracker.com. For promotion and co-marketing bazee.com will be tying up with sites like Hungama.com and contests2win.com, for whom they will run both the online as well as the offline promotions. Mr Thakar adds, "while we had closed many of the deals earlier, we have started taking them online now, as we were waiting to get our new site into place." Baazee's co branded page with Go4i.com went live on Thursday. The Hungama co-branded page is expected to go online in a few days and the automartindia.com arrangement is expected to be functional by the first week of November.
