Chennai, Oct 18: The bottomline of TVS-Suzuki Limited shrunk by 11.18 per cent in the first half of the current fiscal, despite a 17.34 per cent growth in its sales, compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.The two-wheeler major has registered a net sales of Rs 921.93 crore for the six months ended September 30, 2000 as against Rs 785.67 crore for the corresponding six months in 1999. The total expenditure of the company, including raw materials consumed and staff cost, has also increased to Rs 840.86 crore (Rs 698.39 crore). While depreciation was higher at Rs 22.29 crore (Rs 19.25 crore), interest was lower at Rs 11.49 crore (Rs 13.74 crore).
TVS Suzuki has posted a sales of Rs 469.38 crore (Rs 420.63 crore) and a net profit of Rs 20.24 crore (Rs 24.77 crore) for the second quarter ended September 30, 2000. The net sales for the previous year ended March 31, 2000, was Rs 1616.14 crore, while its net profit stood at Rs 87.41 crore.
