Unique WAN-BAM alliance goes online

Lalitha Srinivasan
Mumbai: In a strategic move, Euro RSCG Interactive has tied up with Acer India, a leading hardware and peripherals manufacturer, and Eonour Software Limited, a provider of B2B e-commerce technology solutions, to offer end-to-end turnkey solutions for its existing and future clientele.

Says Euro RSCG Interactive chief operating officer Probir Roy: ``We have signed a tripartite agreement with these eminent partners to cater specifically to the New Economy needs. Our objective is to provide a total value-for-money service to our clients.''

According to Mr. Roy, the team has already identified the target industry segments and are talking to several organisations to provide them a single window through which they can build their technology infrastructure and online presence.

This alliance, according to Mr. Roy, will focus on the new economy where Acer India's role would be to provide Web servers. Eonour Software's role would be to provide technical solutions, while Euro RSCG's will look after the overall Internet branding, e-marketing, strategy formation and execution. Towards this end, the three parties intend to do joint promotional activities to enhance sales of their respective products and services. As for the revenue sharing in this unique tripartite deal, Mr. Roy says: "It will be determined on a mutual basis, on a case-by-case approach." On the rationale behind the tie-up, Mr. Roy said that there was a need to enable and integrate `Web application needs and brick & mortar (WAN-BAM)'.

"It's e-integration. Many companies have made substantial investments in traditional IT infrastructure. These cannot be wished away in the New Economy. They have to be integrated with WAN-BAM," explained Mr. Roy.

Globally, Euro RSCG Interactive is the eighth largest interactive agency in the world with a gross income of $ 120 million in 1999. It has also been ranked as a premier interactive agency in India within a short span of starting operations here in 1999. The services include online brand strategy, Web design, production and development, content creation and management, e-biz consulting and assessment and Web content management, to name a few. Euro RSCG Interacting is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Rs 152 crore advertising agency, Euro RSCG in India.
