Tata Electric mergers complete
The merger of the three Tata Electric Companies was completed on Wednesday, with the High Court of Judicature at Bombay sanctioning the scheme of amalgamation of the two smaller Tata electric companies, with The Tata Power Co Ltd.

Nicholas Piramal first half net up 31.6 per cent to Rs 33.6
Nicholas Piramal has posted a 31.6% increase in net profit to Rs 33.66 crore for the first half ended Sept 2000, as compared to Rs 25.57 crore for the corresponding half last year.

Nirma net up 18 per cent to Rs 136.5 crore in H1
Ahmedabad-based detergent giant Nirma Ltd has posted a 18.3% rise in net profit to Rs 136.55 crore in the first half of the current financial year compared with a net profit of Rs 115.47 crore in the corresponding period of previous year.
