Vasu Apparels Pvt Ltd, makers of the Ostermann brand of trousers, plans to widen its distribution reach apart from expanding its product range.Currently entrenched in the north, Vasu plans to launch its products in thetop metros next summer. ``We'll be present in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai by the beginning of next summer,'' Mr Ashok Singhal, managing director, Vasu Apparels Pvt Ltd said.
Vasu plans to enter the formal trouser segment with a view to moving away from being just a Khaki trouser brand. For this the company has just introduced a new range-Royale 2000 Collection. It also plans to launcha mens' jackets and readymade suits segment besides a casual range calledDesigners-all under the umbrella brand of Ostermann. Ostermann plans to stock the jackets and suits with exclusive retail outlets only. To create pull for its brand, Ostermann has just unleashed a new advertising campaign in print. It also plans to release a television commercial early next year.
The company expects to sell one lakh trousers this year and register a 65 per cent growth in the current financial year on a turnover of Rs 4.5 crore.
