Venezuelan IT companies keen on partnerships with Indian firms
Venezuela is keenly looking for partnership with Indian information technology companies. Chamber of IT companies of Venezuela president Alexis Castro, who is leading a 15-member IT mission, said at Bangalore on Monday that there were about 1,400 IT companies in Venezuela and most of them were looking towards establishing joint ventures as well as outsourcing work.

Since India had made a name in the IT sector, it was keen to exchange expertise through greater cooperation with India, both in software and hardware, he added.

WILL-enabled mobility for basic subscribers will harm cellular operators: CRISIL
The proposed move by the DoT to allow private basic services operators to offer limited mobility using wireless in local loop (WILL) technology, will adversely impact the business plans and growth prospects of cellular service operators, especially in state circles, according to CRISIL. WILL for basic services would allow subscriber mobility within a specified area and thus duplicate the convenience of continuous access as offered by cellular services, according to a release issued by the rating agency CRISIL.

Convergent Communications in pact with Smart Tech
Convergent Communications India Pvt Ltd has entered into a strategic alliance with Smart Modular Technologies for marketing its memory modules and memory cards, besides communication products. Mr D Mohana Krishnan, vice-president Asia-Pacific of Smart Modular Technologies told newsmen at Bangalore that with the Indian government encouraging local manufacturing activities by giving tax and duty exemptions, the multinationals would not only expand their operations, but also encourage others to move in.

Aapkesapne.com goes online
A Delhi-based Website management and software development company on Monday launched a portal called aapkesapne.com, a dedicated place to share one's dreams, needs, aspirations, concerns and resources. Giving a presentation about the portal, Mr Vinayak Jain, CEO, Web media solutions, said their effort would be to support people in making their dreams a success. Sections of the portal deal with glamour, consisting of fashion updates with information on models, designers, etc.
