SSI ties up with ICAI to train students and members

Hyderabad: SSI Limited, leader in high-end specialised courses and end-to-end IT solution architect, has tied up with Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to train members and students of the latter.

Claimed to be first of its kind in India, under this agreement SSI will train about 60,000 chartered accountants and ICAI students every year on Computer Aided Auditing Techniques (CAAT) and Information System Auditing (ISA), BG Menon, CEO, Education, SSI Ltd, told mediapersons recently.

With the information technology touching every facet of life, it is becoming imperative for people from all walks of life to undergo specialised training, Mr Menon said adding the training would be given in almost all the SSI branches.

He said that SSI was happy to be associated with ICAI in delivering these programmes which will help the ICAI members keep in touch with the cutting edge technologies. SSI and ICAI will join hands for more programmes also.Speaking on the occasion, Mr S Gopala Krishnan, chairman, Information Technology committee, ICAI, said that the committee have felt a strong need for industry-relevant IT training for its members and students. The tie-up with SSI envisages the thrust for infotech revolution in the financial sector, he added.

The course curriculum will be developed by ICAI and SSI will impart training. The course contains seven modules including securities aspect of IT system, modular and practical training and each course varies with time duration being 100 hours to 200 hours. ICAI will also conduct examinations, he said.

Already 750 members are registered for this course and 30,000 members will soon be added, Mr Gopala Krishnan said.
